The initial development of VOLP was funded by the Centre for Advancing Health Outcomes (formerly the Centre for Health Evaluation and Outcome Sciences, CHÉOS), who are partly funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research for projects involving productivity. The development of the questionnaire, validation, and linguistic translation was funded by Wyeth.
